GABM Students for Philanthropy Competition

GABM ANNOUNCES ITS 'GABM STUDENTS FOR PHILANTHROPY COMPETITION'

GABM is looking for at least 100 student teams, each comprising of 10 – 20 students, from the leading Universities around the globe to compete against each other in a philanthropic competition, with prize money exceeding $2.5 million US Dollar.

The competition is first and foremost about dynamic and philanthropically minded students who have recognized, and in solidarity would like to collectively bring about change and hope for, the plight of the millions of young deserving underprivileged people all over the world having no access to tertiary education, or professional career opportunities, or access to job opportunities to support their families as a result of the devastating effects of global poverty.

Moreover, the competition is all about these dynamic and philanthropically minded students participating in a joint effort to create global awareness on GABM’s philanthropic programs, specifically designed to develop the next generation of global business leaders and professionals.

Moreover, the competition is all about these dynamic and philanthropically minded students assisting GABM to increase its capacity to sponsor more students, and fund more young entrepreneurs as well as business development projects, and create more sustainable job opportunities, and increase business and leadership mentoring programs as an effective measure to alleviate global poverty.

To date, GABM associate members have:

• Provided tertiary education sponsorships to more than 12 000 deserving underprivileged individuals at approved international universities
• Invested more than $4-billion US Dollar in thousands of large business development projects, which created more than 100 000 permanent and temporarily job opportunities
• Provided approximately $45-million US Dollar in funding to more than 20 000 small entrepreneurs and subsistence farmers in 35 African countries
